The Lamp
This is a true piece of history in many aspects.
In the 1960s few people had permits to remove stumps of dead or fire burnt-out stumps of Grass Trees / Xanthorrhoea, found only in Western Australia. These were then crafted by wood turning into bowls, lamp bases and ornamental pieces.
This craftsmanship was such a niche and given that the grass tree is protected there are a very limited number still around these days. A true epitome of Western Australia bushland and a rare antique to cherish.
It has just been refitted with new electrical wiring and light fitting.
